If he maintains a 1/2" minimum separation between bricks on all sides open space for a porous filler will be over 17%. Filling with the No. 8 or No. 10 which are around 1/10th of an inch size. For the record, we need to allow only pavers designed for porous pavement in trafficked areas. However, in walkways (such as at Gerald's) and this patios where no vehicular traffic is expected, traditional brick is acceptable. Downer K.
