Present : Belinda Eyestone, Chair; members G. Howard Hayes, Diane Salomone ; Deputy
Assessor James Gallagher
Call to Order : Ms . Eyestone called the meeting to order at 5 : 42pm .
Report of the Deputy Assessor : Mr . Gallagher reported that the office has been busy with
motor vehicle excise abatement applications .
Local Option Tax Exemption Warrant Articles : Mr . Gallagher reviewed the local option tax
exemptions with the Board of Assessors . The Board voted as follows :
• Provision that would allow an increase in the exemption amount of Clause 17D (MGL
Chapter 59 , Section 5 ) referencing Chapter 181 of the Acts of 1995 .
Motion to recommend approval to Select Boards Ms . Eystone moved, Ms .
Salomone seconded, approved unanimously .
• Clause 22G (MGL Chapter 59, Section 5 ) rendering the spouse of a veteran or a deceased
veteran with title to the veteran ' s domicile, eligible for an exemption
Motion to recommend approval to Select Board ; Mr . Hayes moved, Ms .
Salomone seconded, approved unanimously
• Clause 41D (MGL Chapter 59 , Section 5 ) authorizing an annual increase in the income
and asset limits for exemptions granted to senior citizens under M . G . L . Chapter 59 ,
Section 5 , Clause 41 C
Motion to recommend approval to Select Board; Ms . Eyestone moved, Ms .
Salomone seconded, approved unanimously
• MGL Chapter 59 , Section 5K : Reduction of property tax obligation of veteran in
exchange for volunteer services
Motion to refer to Select Board for review, no recommendation on approval , Mr .
Hayes moved, Ms . Eystone seconded, approved unanimously
• MGL Chapter 60A, Section 1 : In any city or town that accepts this paragraph, the excise
tax imposed by this section shall not apply to a motor vehicle owned and registered by or
leased to a former prisoner of war . . . or to a motor vehicle owned and registered by or

Motion to recommend approval to Select Board; Mr. Hayes moved, Ms .
Salomon seconded, approved unanimously
Executive Session (To comply with or act under the authority of, any general or special law or
federal grant-mn aid requirements : MGL Chap . 59 Sec . 60 and MGL Chap . 214 Sec . 1B)
At 6 : 37pm Belinda Eyestone made motion to go into Executive Session for the reason noted
above, not to return to regular session. Diane Salomone seconds the motion. Roll call vote :
Eyestone — Aye ; Hayes — Aye ; Salomone — Aye ; approved unanimously .
