CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO. 2009-66
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF
ORDINANCE NO. 471 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY
WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 471, an
ordinance related to the regulations of the Business Park zoning district and related to the creation
of the Business zoning district; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes § 412.191, subdivision 4 allows publication by title and
summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and
WHEREAS, the ordinance is 41 pages in length; and
WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the
public of the intent and effect of the ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that
the city administrator -clerk shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 471 to be
published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance:
Public Notice
The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 471. The ordinance
makes various changes to the regulations of the Business Park zoning district and the ordinance also
creates a new district called the "Business" zoning district.
Extensive changes were made to the Business Park zoning district including: changes to which
uses are allowed in the district, a reduction in minimum lot size requirements, reductions of various
setback requirements, an increase in the allowed impervious surface coverage, as well as many
changes to regulations related to landscaping, loading docks, and other aspects of site and building
design.
Certain property which has been identified as "General Business" in the City's 2010-2030
Comprehensive Plan will be proposed to be re -zoned into the Business district through a separate
process in the future. When this is to occur, property owners and neighbors will be notified for the
public hearing.

during regular business hours.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city
administrator -clerk keep a copy of the ordinance in his office at city hall for public inspection and
that he post a full copy of the ordinance in a public place within the city.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Johnson and
upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Smith, Johnson, Crosby, Siitari
And the following voted against same: (Absent: Weir)
None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
