HomeMy Public PortalAbout201CITY OF MEDINA ORDINANCE NO. 201 AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL FROM SIDEWALKS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MEDINA ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: The Medina City Code is amended by the addition of the following: §450 Duty of Owner or Occupant. No owner or occupant of any real estate upon which, or adjacent to which, a sidewalk has been constructed for public use, shall allow any accumulati.r-_ of snow or ice to remain upon the sidewalk longer than _ 12 hours after the snow or ice has ceased to form thereon. Any owner or occupant who fails or refuses to remove such ice and snow as provided herein shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be subject to the penalties provided herein. §451 Removal by City. Any snow or ice which is not removed in accordance with §450 may be removed by the City, at the City's discretion, and at the expense of the owner or occupant of the subject property. City employees in charge of such removal shall keep a record of the costs of the work done on each parcel of real estate. §452 Recovery of City's Costs. The cost of removal by the City may be recovered by the City, at its discretion, by levying the costs of such removal as a special assessment against tiie benefiting mmnerties, which special assessment shall certified to the County Auditor for collection in a single installment as with other special assessments. SECTION II: This Ordinance becomes effective upon its adoption and publication. The wall and ceiling joists of all residential dwellings shall consist of wood framing materials of one and one-half inch by three and one-half inch construction, or their equivalent. 738.4 Minimum Size. A11 residential dwellings shall be a minimum of 24 feet in length and width, and contain a minimum of 550 square feet of habitable floor space. Length and width shall be measured from the outside of the exterior siding or facia and habitable floor space shall be measured from the inside of the interior wall surface.
