MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON

The minutes of the commission meeting held on November
10, 1956 were read, adopted and approved.
Mayor Lindsay read the resignation from the commission
of Vice - Mayor - Commissioner Norris J. Clarke. Mayor Lindsay
expressed the feeling of the other commissioners in stating
that it was with deep regret that the resignation of Vice&
Mayor Clarke,who served the Town so faithfully for so many
years, Had been tendered. After a motion to ac ^ept the
rewignation and a second, it was passed unanimously.
The Mayor nominated'Tbm M. Girdler to fill the
unexpired term of Norris J. Clarke, it was seconded by
Stewart B. Iglehart and passed unanimously.
Commissioner Pope nominated Stewart B. Iglehart to
the position of Vice - Mayor,; after a second by Commissioner
Koch it passed unanimously.
The Commis.. ^ioners then voted to adjourn.
After adjournment the Commissioners discussed the
present water survey by the Engineering firm of
Brockway, Weber & Brockway, the possibility of the Town
hiring an additional policeman for the winter season &
The..employment of J.R. Fountain for the periods 9 -12
Q:U -5 :00 five days a week at an increase in salary
of $125.00 per month.

Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State
of Florida, and that I will faithfully perform all of the duties
of the offf ice of TOWN COMMISSIONER OF THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM,
FLORIDA, on which I am about to enter, SO HELP ME GOD.
I DO SOLE'-TILY SWEAR THAT I AM NOT A MEMBER OF THE
COMMUNIST PARTY, that I have not, and will not, lend any aid or
support, advice, counsel or influence to the Communist Party;
that I do not believe in the overthrow of the Government of the
United States, or the State of Florida by force or violence,
that I am not a member of any organization of party which be-
lives in or teaches, directly or indirectly, the overthrow of
the Government of the United States or the State of Florida by
force or violence.
