RE: Redevelopment Agency Board Application
DATE: August 14, 2018
Dear Board Selection Committee:
My name is Tabitha Martineau and I have been a business owner in McCall for the last 29 years.
I recently had the privilege of serving on the Lot Tax Commission and that experience has
invigorated my sense of civic duty and community involvement.
As the owner of "My Father's Place" and a longtime resident of McCall, I have watched as
numerous businesses throughout the years have both flourished and failed. This experience has
taught me three important lessons. First, a strong and involved community is one of the pillars of
our town's success. Second, community support is the lifeblood of local business', and without
it, our doors would have been closed a long time ago. Finally, most problems require solutions
that are both practical and creative.
If selected to serve on the Board, I will use these three lesson to ensure the development and
redevelopment in the Urban Renewal District will not only foster community involvement, but
also generate a framework of economic growth and innovation. And while I can't tell you
exactly how I will decide on certain issues, I can tell you that I will approach each proposal with
an open mind and provide well -reasoned recommendations.
I appreciate both your time and consideration for this position.
Sincerely,
Tabitha Martineau
