Iglehart Commissioner - Henry V. Pope Commissioner - Wm. F. Koch, Jr. Commissioner - Tom M. Girdler Town Attorney - Henry F. Lilienthal Town Clerk - J. Raleigh Fountain The minutes of the Commission Meeting held on January 12, 1957 were read; approved and adopted. Mayor Lindsay reminded the Commissioners that the. Town Meeting would be held on Saturday, February 16, 1957 at 10:00 a. m. in the Gulfstream School. Mayor Lindsay read a draft of the following resolution: RESOLUTION N0. -464 RESOLUTION OF 7HE TOWN OF GULFS'TREAM, FLORIDA, ADOPTING 7HE GENERAL LAW OF THE STATE, SECTION 101.61 THROUGH SECTION 101.69 AND SECTION 101.691 THROUGH SECTION 101.696, FLORIDA S'MUTTES 1955, 14= RESPECT 'IC ABSENTEE VOTING AND RELATED MAT;_LYZS. BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF `iHE TOWN OF GULFSiREAM, FLORIDA, in session assembled February 9, 1957, as follows: Section 1. Pursuant to authority of Section 101.70 Florida Statutes 1955, the provisions of Florida Statutes 1955, Sections 101.61 through 101.69 and Sections 101.691 through 101.696, relating to absentee voters and voting, are hereby adopted and made a part of the election laws of the Town of Gulfstream, Florida, and shall apply to all town elections. Section 2. Whenever the words "Supervisor of Registration" appear in the above styled laws and sections of Florida Statutes adopted above, the words "Town Clerk" shall be and the same are hereby inserted in the place and stead of "Supervisor of Registration." immediately upon its adoption. Adopted the 9th day of February, 1957. Mayor Lindsay made a motion that the above resolution be adopted. Commissioner Koch seconded and it carried unanimously. The Mayor and each Commissioner then signed the original of the resolution and it was unanimously voted to make it a part of these minutes. The Town Clerk reported that the insurance coverage on the rental police car was less than the insurance coverage on the Town's Oldsmobile. Commissioner Pope made a motion that J. R. Fountain have the insurance on the rental car increased to the amount on the Cldsmobile. Commissioner Girdler seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Mayor Lindsay read a bill the Town received from the Gulfstream Golf Club in the amount of $135.00. He explained that this was the Town's portion of the bill sent the Golf Club for three sprayings over the entire Town for mosquitoes by plane. It was moved, seconded and carried unanimously that the Town pay this bill. Mayor Lindsay made a motion that the necessary signs for County Road, Oleander 'aay, AIA and Palm Way be purchased immediately. After a second by Commissioner Pope it carried unanimously. Police Chief Roy Cowart and J. R. Fountain were instructed to get the appropriate signs painted and have them placed in strategic places as soon as possible. J. R. Fountain read the letter dated January 28, 1957 he received from Commissioner Pope, requesting that his (Henry V. Pope) name be placed on the ballot for the coming election of 1�i rch 5, 1957. The following Commissioners then filed their letters of intention to run for Commissioner in the coming election with the Town Clerk: Mayor L. Seton Lindsay Stewart B. Iglehart William F. Koch, Jr. Tom H. Girdler. The Town Attorney, Mr. Lilienthal, stated the above men had qualified and would have their names placed on the ballot for the election on March 5, 1957. Minutes - February 9, 1957 Page 2 C Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. Adopted the 9th day of February, 1957. Mayor Lindsay made a motion that the above resolution be adopted. Commissioner Koch seconded and it carried unanimously.
