AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice has grant funding available to assist in various law enforcement activities; and
WHEREAS, the Richmond Police Department desires to submit a grant application in order to assist with the purchase of eleven (11) portable radios and two (2) video cameras.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the U.S. Department of Justice for the purchase of eleven (11) portable radios and two (2) video
cameras.
2. The Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Eighteen Thousand One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($18,150.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded to the Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated for the purchase of eleven (11) portable radios and two (2) video cameras.

Passed and adopted this 3rd day of August, 1998, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
