AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FOR THE YWCA FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond, Indiana has applied for and been awarded
a grant in the amount of Eighty Thousand Four Hundred Fifty-six Dollars ($80,456.00) from the United States Department of Justice; and
WHEREAS, said grant funding shall be used for the YWCA’s Genesis Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond is the official recipient of said grant and the YWCA
the sub-recipient; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that the City of Richmond assist the YWCA by obtaining
this grant to financially support Genesis, the YWCA’s Victims Assistance Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The application of City of Richmond on behalf of the YWCA for grant funding in the amount of Eighty Thousand Four Hundred Fifty-six Dollars ($80,456.00) from the United States Department
of Justice is hereby authorized.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in the amount of Eighty Thousand Four Hundred Fifty-six Dollars ($80,456.00).
3. Said funds are hereby appropriated to the YWCA as sub-recipient of the grant, for use in the YWCA’s Genesis Program.
Passed and adopted this 3rd day of August, 1998, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
