CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO. 2010-37
RESOLUTION REQUESTING HENNEPIN COUNTY UNDERTAKE THE
UPDATING OF CSAH 116 TRAFFIC ANALYSIS
WHEREAS, the Medina City Council is interested in reviewing and updating the
safety measures currently in place for the intersection of CSAH 116 and Hackamore
Road; and,
WHEREAS, there have been numerous traffic and vehicular accidents over the
years at the intersection with the latest being a severe two vehicle accident at the boarder
of the cities of Medina and Corcoran; and,
WHEREAS, the City is concerned that recent changes to traffic patterns in the
immediate region are compromising the safety and welfare of citizens and commuters at
the intersection; and,
WHEREAS, Medina is interested in working with Hennepin County and the City
of Corcoran to improve the safety measures and devices along CSAH 116.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of
Medina hereby requests that Hennepin County undertake the analysis and study to
determine the adequacy and appropriateness of all safety measures currently in place
along CSAH 116 and to report on options for implementation at the CSAH
116/Hackamore Road intersection.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the City Council hereby asks that Hennepin
County work with the City of Medina and the City of Corcoran to facilitate this analysis
and study.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Weir and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Smith, Weir, Crosby, Johnson, Siitari
And the following voted against same:
None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
