Brewster All Citizens Access Committee Meeting

Present: Joan Carstanjen , Laurel Labdon , Judy Miller , Roberta Murphy , Cindy Bingham ,
Select Board Liaison

1 . Come to order : Ms . Miller called the meeting to order at 2 : 05 pm at the Brewster
Police Department conference room .
2 . Secretary's Report : It was moved , seconded , and unanimously voted to approve
the minutes of the September 21 , 2018 committee meeting .
A message will be sent to Ms . Labdon to confirm her email address .
3 . Discuss and vote on a new chairperson : After a discussion , it was decided to
rotate the chairperson position among the members on a monthly basis . Ms . Rego
volunteered for November; there is no December meeting .
4 . Old /New Business : Denise Rego reported that the Finance Department said there
is no ACAC money remaining . She will ask for specific information as to how much
was approved at Town Meeting for ACAC projects and how much has been spent ,
A lengthy discussion ensued as to how the ACAC comes up with projects . The
question was asked if the ACAC is involved with or has any impact on other
committees' projects . The ACAC is an advisory committee and makes suggestions or
recommendations to other Town departments , groups and committees . Ms . Labdon
expressed an interest in the Dog Park . She was unanimously voted as the ACAC
liaison to the Dog Park Committee .
5 . Other business not anticipated by the chair: Outreach to citizens to ensure
their access to polls . Ms . Rego will have information regarding early voting at Town
Hall and COA van rides to the polls put on the Town website and in the Cape Codder.
6 . Next Month's Agenda Items : Ms . Miller will invite Victor Staley to the Nov.
meeting to discuss Town regulations regarding handicap parking; Ms . Rego will
report on specific information re: money available to the ACAC; Ms . Labdon will
report on Brewster Woods' accessible units; Ms . Carstanjen will contact the
Historical Society and report on accomodations available for people who can' t get on
the bus and hear the tour narrations .
Next meeting : November 16 , 2018 at 2pm at the Brewster Police Facility.
The meeting was adjourned at 2 : 45pm .
