Meeting Minutes
January 24, 2011
I. Call to Order - The Veterans Affairs Council Meeting for January 24,
2011 was held informally due to lack of a quorum.
II. Invocation — No invocation was said.
III. Pledge of Allegiance — The Pledge of Allegiance was not recited.
IV. Roll Call — Present Absent
Charles Wood, Chairperson Julio Mendoza, Board Member
Louis Ford. Board Member
V. Agenda Posting - The Agenda was duly posted by the City Clerk for the I
January 2011 meeting.
VI. Approval of Minutes—The November 2010 minutes were not approved due �
to a lack of a quorum. �
' VII. Scheduled Matters — None '
VIII. Public Orals — Pearline Calderon. 4010 Josephine Street stated she is curious �
to know how the Veterans Affairs Council will function if the City Council is �
eliminating the Commissions. Ms. Rozie Carrillo, Liaison for the Veterans '
Affairs Council stated that the Boards and Commissions will still be meeting
for several more months. Chairperson Wood commented that this Board was
originally started by Councilman Rea, former City of Lynwood employee, Leo !
Rodriguez and himself. He stated that people lost interest when the City
Council began appointing Board Members. �

o Wood — Chairperson Wood stated that he'd find a guest speaker for the j
next Veterans Day Program. �

o Mendoza — Absent ;

Ms. Rozie Carrillo stated that there will be an invitation for membership to the �
�Veterans Affairs Council in the next Lynwood 'n Perspective.
X. Adjournment — The Veterans Affairs Council will adjourn until the next
regularly scheduled meeting to be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 28, '
2011.
