ORDINANCE NO. 14072
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING ARTICLE III,
OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, SECTION 3.2 BY DELETING
SUBSECTION (D) PERTAINING TO TERM LIMITS FOR COUNCIL PERSONS.
t BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Article III (The Council) of the Charter of the City of Jefferson, Section
3.2 shall by deleting subsection (d) in its entirety.
Section 2. The amendment as set forth in Sections 1 and 2 shall be submitted to
the qualified voters of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, for their approval, at the election to
be held on the 7'" day of November, 2006, at the places designated by the Election
Authority for said election and the ballot shall be in substantially the following form:
PROPOSITION C
Shall the Charter of the City of Jefferson be amended by the repealing of Article III,
Sections 3.2(d)Limitation of Terris as provided in OrdinanceNo. 14072,passed and
approved by the City Council on August 7, 2006?

If you are in favor of the questions, place an "X" in the box opposite"Yes". If you
are opposed to the questions, place an "X" in the box opposite "No".
Section 3 The Mayor and City Clerk shall prepare and execute the form of the
Notice of said Election and shall transmit the same to the Election Authority for the City of
Jefferson, Missouri and request said election be conducted by law.
Section 4. If a majority of the qualified voters voting at said election shall vote in
favor of the approval of this ordinance, then the same shall be binding in full force and
effect from and after such approval ` .
Section 5. If any section, subsection,sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this
ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and Independent provision,
as such holdings shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion thereof.
• Section e. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its passage and approval.
