Home My Public Portal About048-2015 - Grant - DUI Task Force - Overtime PayW COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA ORDINANCE NO.48-2015 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE INDIANA CRIMINAL JUSTICE INSTITUTE WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-14-10, a municipality may execute any documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies received in accordance with IC 364-6-18; and WHEREAS, The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute has grant funding available through its "DUI Taskforce project" grant program; and WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Police Department, in cooperation with the Wayne County Traffic Safety Partnership, has submitted or will submit a grant application to obtain funds for overtime pay to pay for officers participating in the DUI Taskforce project, outside of their current assignments; and WHEREAS, No local match is required for this grant. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. The City of Richmond Police Department, in cooperation with the Wayne County Traffic Safety Partnership, has submitted or will submit, as authorized by IC 36-1-4-10, a grant application to the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute to obtain funds for overtime pay for officers participating in the DUI Taskforce project, outside their current assignments. 2. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Forty Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($40,000.00). 3. Said funds, if awarded, shall be appropriated to assist with overtime pay for officers.
