AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE 2010 ROAD PROGRA.!vl, PHASE I
.WHEREAS, the Borough has publicly advertised for the receipt of bids for the 2010 Road Improvement
Program, Phase I Project; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has solicited and received six (6) bid proposals for the 2010 Road
Improvement Program, Phase I Project as follows:

WHEREAS, S. Brothers, has submitted the lowest bid for said contract as evidenced by the response on
file with the Borough's Purchasing Department and with the Borough Engineer; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has reviewed the above bid proposals and has recommended the
award of a contract to S. Brothers, in a total amount not to exceed $740,524.90; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available for said purpose.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret as
follows:
1. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with S.
Brothers, South River, N.J. for 2010 Road Improvement, Phase I for the sum of $740,524.90
in accordance in aU respects with the request for proposals and bid on same.
2. That a copy of this Resol.ution shall be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing Department
and Borough Engineer.
3. That the aforementioned award of bid is contingent upon formal approval from the New
Jersey Department of Labor, Division of Wage and Hour Compliance.
Adopted this 22r4 day of July, 2010
and certified as a true copy of the
original on July 23, 2010.
