Resolution #1006, authorizing the application with the Environmental Protection Agency for a grant under the Water Pollution Control Act as outlined by City Engineer Ryken was adopted on a motion by Van Deest, seconded by Cordes. Rolloall of votes-- Ayes--Bausman, Cordes, Van Deest, Huisman Nays --None Absent--Terfehn Carried. Moved by Cordes, 2nd by Bausman for the Mayor and Clerk to enter into a contract agreement with Engineer Ryken thus enabling him to proceed with Step 1 of the sewer facility planning and infiltration --inflow analysis. Said contract to be valid only if a DEQ grant is approved for the city. Carried. Moved by Cordes, 2nd by Bausman for installation of a concrete retain- ing wall by George Blythe on the city property along Emery Street. Carried. Moved by Huisman, 2nd by Cordes to employ Walter Block as pool man- ager for 1976 pool season at a salary of $650 per month. Carried. Hui man moved, Van Deest seconded adjournment. arried. C Mayor Clergy The Wellsburg City Council met in regular session on May 3, 1976, with Mayor Blythe presiding and all council members present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved on a motion by Huisman, 2nd by Bausman. Carried. Moved by Terfehn, 2nd by Bausman to increase the salary of Leon Abels, to $660 per nonth, as of May I with review of said employee®s salary scheduled for the regular September meeting of current year. Carried. Moved by Huisman, 2nd by Van Deest to increase the remuneration. for city volunteer firemen from the current rate of $1 to $3 per call. Carried. Moved by Van Deest, 2nd by Bausman to accept the proposed contract between the city and the Department of Transportation pertaining to the maintenance of Highway 214 within the city limits. Carried. Moved by Van Deest, 2nd by Cordes to approve the application for a beer and liquor lice se and the application for a cigarette permit - for Pat Kennedy dba Wellsburg Tap. Carried. Moved by Huisman, 2nd by Van Deest to approve the D 0 T street construction program report as prepared by the city clerk. Carried. Huisman moved, Terfehn 2nd adjournment. Carried. /, W-L a-Yo-- Clerk The Wellsburg City Council met in special session on, May 10, 19?6, with Mayor Blythe presiding and Councilmen Cordes, Huisman and Baus- man present. Piirpose of the meeting was to consider the reduction of proposed 1976-77 budget to comply with state law. After due discussion, it was moved by Huisman, 2nd by Cordes to appeal the 9% limitation and the clerk was instructed to notify the state appeal board of the decision. Carried. Meeting stood adjourned on a motion by Huisman, 2nd by.Bausman. Carried.
