HomeMy Public PortalAbout2011-001 Resolution Recognizing Carolyn Smith for 18 Years of ServiceMember Weir introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2011-01 RECOGNIZING CAROLYN SMITH FOR EIGHTEEN YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF MEDINA WHEREAS, Carolyn Smith has completed eighteen years of dedicated service to the City of Medina; and WHEREAS, Smith has served as a member of the Planning Commission from 1993 through 1998; and WHEREAS, Smith has served as a member of the City Council from 1999 through present; and WHEREAS, throughout Councilmember Smith's service to the City of Medina several significant projects have taken place including: The Uptown Hamel Redevelopment District and infrastructure improvements; The City's 2000-2020 and 2010-2030 Comprehensive Plan adoptions; Land Use Development approvals including Wild Meadows, Bridgewater at Lake Medina, Gramercy at Elm Creek, and Medina Clydesdale Marketplace (Target) project; Construction of the Hamel Water Treatment Facility; Completion of numerous park improvements including the Hamel Community Building, Field House, playground equipment, Tomann Preserve, Rainwater Nature Area, and Holy Name Park; and WHEREAS, Councilmember Smith provided leadership and guidance on the creation of the City Administrator position, the implementation of park and environmental improvements, the preservation of the City's natural resources and rural character, and the formation of long- term capital improvement planning; and THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Medina acknowledges and thanks Councilmember Smith for her years of service to the community.
