Borough of Carteret
UEZ Start Up Grant - Phase 4
Resolution
\VHEREAS, the Borough of Cafteret Urban Enterprise Zone Board unanimously
reconunend the adoption of a resolution requesting additional VEZ project funding to
continue the VEZ Start Up Grant Phase 4, a component of the Carteret Small Business
Programs, to continue a fmaneial assistance grant program for eligible participants of the
Carteret Urban Enterprise Zone Program; and
WHEREAS, The Borough of Carteret and the Urban Enterprise Board wishes to
continue the VEZ funded Start Up Grant - Phase 4, which will contribute as a catalyst to
the expansion of Carteret's business districts and redevelopment areas through new
business capital investments and employment opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret and the Urban Enterprise Board has reviewed the
proposed purposes and support the UEZ funded Start Up Grant - Phase 4; and
WHEREAS, this request if for Phase 4 of this program in the amount of $100,000.00
(One hundred Thousand Dollars, and 00/100); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to NJ.S.52.27H-88 ( C ), in order to nmd the project from funds
deposited in the enterprise Zone Assistance Fund, the governing body must adopt a
resolution approving the project and authorizing the submission of the project for
additional nmding; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret does hereby authorize and direct the submission of a request in the amount of
$100,000.00 to the New Jersey Urban Enterprise Zone Program for evaluation and
approval of the project entitled:
UEZ Start Up Grant - Phase 4
to be funded from monies deposited in the Enterprise Zone Assistance Fund and credited
to the account of the Borough of Carteret, said account maintained by the State Treasurer
for the Enterprise Zone.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Borough Clerk shall forward eight (8) certified
copies of the resolution to the Urban Enterprise Zone Program Coordinator and
distribution to the members of the Urban Enterprise Zone Board.
