The Town 06mmission of the Town of Gulf
Stream, Florida, on May 17th,1952:
A regularly adjourned meeting of the Town Commission of the
Town of Gulf Stream, Palm Beach County, Florida, was held at
the Town Hall a£ Gulf Stream, Florida at ten o'clock., May 17th,
1952, with Commissioners Bauer, Clarke, Iglehart and Lindsay
present. Commissioner Royce was absent. Town Attorney-C.Y.Byrd
was present.
Mayor Lindsay advised the Commission that this was a regular
adjourned meeting from the last Town Commission meeting held on
May 12,1952 and that the main business to be considered at this
meeting was the second reading of the new Town Zoning Ordinance
which was before the Commission for its consideration.
On motion duly made by Commissioner Clarke the new and com-
prehensive Town Zoning Ordinance and Map was to be read in full
for a second reading, title to said Ordinance being as follows:
AN ORDINANCE TO PROMOTE THE HEALTH, SAFETY, MORALS AND
GENERAL WELFARE OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE TOWN OF GULF
STREAM, FLORIDA; TO FACILITATE THE ADEQUATE PROVISION OF
TRANSPORTATION, SEWERAGE, WATER, SCHOOLS, BARKS AND OTHER
PUBLIC REQUIREIENTS- TO REGULATE AND RESTRICT THE 10CATION
AND USE OF BUILDINE STRUCTURES, LAND AND WATER FOR TRADE,
INDUSTRY, RESIDENCE GR OTHER PURPOSE; TO REGULATE AND
RESTRICT THE ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION RECONSTRUCTION OR AL*
TERATION OF BUILDINGS; TO REGULATE IND RESTRICT THE HEIGHT
NUMBER OF STORIES, AND SIZE OF ALL BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURE
AND THE SIZE OF ALL YARDS AND OTHER OPEN SPACES SURROUNDING
BUILDINGS• TO REGULATE AND RESTRICT THE DENSITY OF POP-
ULATION, �ND FOR SAID PURPOSES TO DIVIDE THE TOWN INTO DIS-
TRICTS OF SUCH NUMBER SHARE AND AREA AS MAY BE BEST SUITED
TO CARRY OUT THESE REGULATIONS AND AMENDMENTS• TO PROVIDE FOR
ITS ENFORCEMENT- PROVIDING FOR SPECIAL E%CEPHONS IN EVENT
OF HARDSHIP, AN PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF.
The motion was seconded by �'ommissioner Iglehart, and on roll
call Commissioners, Bauer, Clarke, Iglehart and Lindsay voted in
favor of the motion. Commissioners voting against the motion:
none.
After the reading of the Town Zoning Ordinance in full, and a
careful examination of the Town Zoning Map attached thereto,
Commissioner Clarke moved that in view of the fagt that there
were no further amendments to said Zoning Ordinance that the
same be passed and adopted, as read, as the new comprehensive
Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida. Said
motion was seconded by Commissioner Bauer, and on roll call
Commissioners voting in favor of the passage and adoption of
said Zoning Ordinance were: Bauer,Clarke,Iglehart and Lindsay.
Commissioners voting against the motion: none.
Mayor Lindsay instructed Town Clerk Bauer to see that said
Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map were properly signed by each
Commissioner present and the seal of the Town affixed, and
that a copy of said Loning Ordinance be posted in accordance
with the Charter Act of the Town. continued see page (2)
