AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE TO BE KNOWN AS THE 1999 FIREFIGHTER AND POLICE OFFICER SALARY ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-8-3-3(d) requires Common Council to fix the annual
compensation of all police officers and fire fighters; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond through its Board of Public Works and Safety and
John Hennigar Lodge No. 63 of the Fraternal Order of Police have reached an agreement on salary levels for 1999; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond through its Board of Public Works and Safety and
Richmond Professional Firefighters, Inc. AFL-CI0 Local 1408 have reached an agreement on salary levels for 1999.
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that the following positions be compensated not in excess of the respective sums hereafter set
forth during calendar year 1998, to wit:
Section 1 - Police Department
Position Bi-Weekly Salary
1.01 Captain 1,283.92
1.02 Lieutenant 1.245.31
1.03 Sergeant 1,206.85
1.04 Investigator 1,149.15
1.05 Patrolman 1,091.46
1.06 Additional Compensation. In addition to the bi-weekly salaries set forth in Sections 1.01 through 1.05 above, all benefits agreed upon in the agreement dated November 9, 1995 and
supplemented by addendum dated November 6, 1997 between the Board of Works and Public Safety on behalf of the City of Richmond, Indiana and John Hennigar Lodge No. 63 of the Fraternal
Order of Police are hereby incorporated by reference.
Section 2 - Fire Department
Position Bi-Weekly Salary
2.01 Inspector 1,222.19
2.02 Lieutenant 1,222.19
2.03 Engineer 1,176.04
2.04 Firefighter 1,126.04
2.05 Probationary Firefighter 1,033.97
Additional Compensation. In addition to the bi-weekly salaries set forth in Sections 2.01 through 2.05 above, all benefits agreed upon in the Professional Negotiation Agreement dated
the 16th and 30th days of January 1997 and supplemented by addendums dated November 6, 1997 and April 9, 1998 between the City of Richmond, Indiana and Richmond Professional Firefighters,
Inc. AFL-CI0 Local 1408 are hereby incorporated by reference.
Passed and adopted this 8th day of September 1998, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
