Minutes of the Town Commission of the Town of Gulf Stream,
Florida, held at the Town Hall on Monday June 9th,1952 at 9 a.m.
Present: Commissioners L. Seton Lindsay, Stewart B. Iglehart and
Wm.J.Bauer
The minutes of the meeting held on May 12th,1952 and of the ad-
journed meeting heldon May 17th,1952 were read. Upon motion duly
made, seconded a::d unanimously carried, the minutes were approved
and ordered filed.
The Commissioners approved the payment of the attached list of
bills paid by check numbers #1050 to #1081 inclusive.
It was reported to the meeting that 3,266,000 gallons of water had
been furnished to the Town of Gulf Stream by the Gulf Stream Golf Club
during the month of May 1952 for which the Town was to pay the Gulf
Stream Golf Club 0391.92. The resale of water to individuals amounted
to $738.20
The Town Clerk also reported that during the month of May (1) Con-
tractors License had been issued for 050.00 and (4) Building Permits
issued amounting to 0200.00.
Upon motion by Commissioner S.B.Iglehart and seconded by L. Seton
Lindsay it was resolved that the Town Commissioners sit as a Board
of Equalization on July 5th, 7th and 8th,1952 to hear complaints and
to.equalize the values of the assessment as shown on the tax roll.
This motion was approved by theentire commission present. Town Clerk
Commissioner Bauer was instructed to post on the Town Hall Bulletin
Board a copy of above motion.
A letter of proposal was received and read, from County Constable
W. B. Wheeler, also a Policeman of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida
in which he offered to make two to three night patrols every night
of the week, not less than seventeen patrols per week for $25.00
per month additional or making a total salary due him of 050.00 per
month. The Commissioners upon motion duly made, seconded and unani-
mously carried agreed to accept this offer and ordered said letter of
W.B.Wheeler fined.
A discussion was held relative to appointing H.V.Purdom and C.W.
Ramsey as Town Policemen. It was moved and seconded that this matter
be tabled.
It was suggested that the tail gate of the Garbage Truck be altered
so that the heavy metal gate be replaced by some lighter material such
as Plywood. This would speed up collection of garbage and trash. Upon
motion duly made, seconded and unanimously voted, such change or alter-
ation was approved.
Town Commissioner Mayor L. Seton Lindsay made the suggestion that
during his absence for part of this summer, that Town Commissioner
S.B.Iglehart should act as Mayor during Mr. Lindsays absence. Upon
motion duly :Wade, seconded and unanimously carried, this motion was
approved.
Ther being no further business to come before the meeting, it
adjourned.
