HomeMy Public PortalAbout160_010_FOTT Minutes May 16 2013 Friends of the Tybee Theater Regular Board Meeting May 16, 2013 Present: Jim Kluttz, Alfie Waite, Dick Smith, Greg Stoffler, Sarah Jones, Richard Adams, Keith Gay, and Bill Blakey Absent: Jay Burke, Carrie Efrid, Maria Lancaster,Jan Fox,Jenny Orr, Paul DeVivo, Sloan Knudson,Jerry Onyskiw and Paul Gilker Call to Order: Jim Kluttz called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm. Minutes: April 18, 2013 minutes were approved. Committee Reports: Finance: Alfie distributed the April 30, 2013 balance sheet and income statements for the one and four months then ended. Cash was approximately$138,000 and Fixed Assets approximately$926,000. April includes results from the Wine Festival although not all items are final. Fund raising net income for the 4 months was approximately$38,000 and net ordinary income for that period was$27,900. Grants year to date are $17,500 Fund raising income is down about $9,000 from last year. We have not yet received $5,000 from the Tourism Council. An extension request for the tax return for 2012 has been filed. Building: In Cullen Chambers' absence it was reported that the most recent walk through was not final and there is a punch list of open items. Event and Activities Recap: Tybee Wine Festival: The 2014 Wine Festival will be on April 12, 2014 with the period from the 9th to 13th of April 2014 used for all the Festival events. We plan to reserve the pier for the same date as the Wine Festival. Tybee Brew Fest: The 2013 Brew Fest (to be held August 24) was discussed. We still have one vendor opening for this year's event. The pier has been reserved for this weekend. There was a discussion of possibly combining the Brew Fest with the Wine Festival as well as holding it over several weekends during the summer. Graham and Swift report: A typed summary of the conference call with Graham and Swift was distributed and reviewed. There was also a discussion of the need for an architect for the next phase of work. Other matters: Jim discussed Amy Kagan's resignation. There was a discussion of capabilities we should be looking for in her replacement as well as employment terms. Sarah, Greg and Richard will be the final interview committee.
