SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS -MEETING OF
MARCH 21,2018
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission
actions from their meeting of March 21, 2018.
BACKGROUND:
On March 21 , 2018, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly
scheduled meeting.
ANALYSIS:
Following is a summary of actions taken at the March 21, 2018 Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting :
1 . ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner-Rosso , Vance, Vice-Chairman Haddad , Chairman
Baroldi
Absent: Commissioner -None
Excused: Commission er-Georgina
2. CONSENT CALENDAR
The Parks and Recreati on Commission approved the minutes of the February 21 ,
2018 meeting and received and filed th e Monthly Report for February 2018 .

3 . NEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FROM FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF TEMPLE
CITY FOR RESERVED USE OF THE PERFORMING ARTS PAVILION AND
ADJACENT GRASS AREAS AT TEMPLE CITY PARK ON SUNDAY, APRIL
1, 2018 FOR A COMMUNITY EASTER CELEBRATION AND
CONSIDERATION OF A FEE WAIVER
The Commission approved the requests .
B . REQUEST FOR CONSIDERATION OF A FEE WAIVER FOR RESERVED
USE OF THE PERFORMING ARTS PAVILION FOR THE 2018 NATIONAL
DAY OF PRAYER ON MAY 3, 2018 AND FOR PLACEMENT OF A BANNER
IN TEMPLE CITY PARK ANNOUNCING THE 2018 NATIONAL DAY OF
PRAYER
The Commission approved the requests.
4 . UPDATE FROM PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR
A. The Commission received the Parks and Recreation Director's Report for
March 2018.
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Approval of the Comm ission actions of March 21 , 2018 furthers the City's Strategic
Goal of Citizen Education and Communication .
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2017-18 City Budget.
