Update on Hiring Process over the Summer
Superintendent Conrad updated the committee on the Principal ' s search that has a pool of 25 candidates and a Search
Committee established. He reviewed the timeline for the committee indicating that by the end of July or the beginning
of August an offer will be made to the new principal .
Update on Personnel Issues
The Superintendent made the committee aware of a number of Level 2 grievances at Stony Brook Elementary School .
They are working with the Union to resolve the issues and would like to do this as parents are anxious to get their
child ' s teacher assignment for next year. Superintendent Conrad reviewed the grievance procedure indicating the
various levels and timelines. He indicated that two grievances have been settled and he is working with the Union on
five more.
Members of the committee stated they had no indication that any of this was happening and need to be knowledgeable .
The Superintendent indicated that he can only speak in broad terms about single personnel issues . He indicated there
is a process and the attorney has guided him as to what he can and cannot say. There are multiple steps that are taken
in personnel issues and they are all unique to themselves . He indicated that as soon as he knows the results of a
situation he informs the board of action taken. By following the attorney, he protects the rights of the employee and
the District.

On a motion by Marie Enochty, seconded by Claire Gradone,
to return to open session at 6 : 20 p . m . On a roll call the vote was as follows : Marie Enochty-aye, Claire Gradone-aye,
Jessica Larson-aye, Robert Miller-aye, and David Telman-aye .
The Committee went into Executive Session at 6 : 20 p .m .
