UEZ Micro loan. Phase 3
Resolution
WHEREAS, the Borough of Cartere! Urban Enterprise Zone Board unanimously recommend the adoption of a resolution
requesting additional UEZ project funding 10 continue the UEZ Micro loan - Phase 3, a component of the Cartere! Small
Business Programs, to continue a financial assistance loan program for eligib!e participants of the Carterel Urban Enterprise
. Zone Program; and.
WHEREAS, The Borough of Cartere! and the Urban Enterprise Board wishes to continue the UEZ funded Micro loan -
Phase 3, which will contribute as a catalyst 10 the expansion of Carteret's business districts and redevelopment areas
through new business capital investments and employment opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret and the Urban Enterprise Board has reviewed the proposed purposes and support the
UEl funded Micro Loan - Phase 3; and
WHEREAS, this request if for Phase 3 of this program in the amount of $100,000.00 (One hundred Thousand Dollars, and
DO/tOO); and
WHEREAS, pursuanlto N.J.S.52.27H-88 ( c j, in order to fund the project from funds deposited in the enterprise Zone
Assistance Fund, the governing body must adopt a resolution approving the project and authorizing the submission of the
project for additlonal funding; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret does hereby authorize and
direct the submission of a request in the amount of $100,000.00 to the New Jersey Urban Enterprise lone Program for
evaluation and approval of the project entitled:
UEl Micro Loan Phase 3
to be funded from monies deposited in the Enterprise Zone Assistance Fund and credited to the account of the Borough of
Carteret, said account maintained by the State Treasurer for the Enterprise lone.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Borough Clerk shall forward eight (8) certified copies of the resolution to the Urban
Enterprise Zone Program Coordinator and dislIibuUon to the members of the Urban Enterprise Zone Board.
