Potential Small Projects
Spring bike week activities ( May 2019)
Distribute bike lights to seasonal employees - esp J - 1 students
Organize group bike rides in and between communities - Harwich — Chatham and
back ; Chatham to Brewster and back; Brewster to Orleans
Trail user counts — OCRT
Try to identify a profile of users of OCRT and CCRT (to get an idea of who the typical
bicyclists are in each town ( maybe develop a set of questions that we might pose to bike
shop owners)
Potential Long Term Projects
Possible South Orleans to Chatham Bike Route (roughly paralleling Rt 28) ( based on
2009 Orleans feasibility study)
Construction Plans for Rt 137 Corridor - Harwich - Brewster
Document secondary on - road bike routes — that use safe routes and allow cyclists to get
around the four towns using CCRT and OCRT as hubs .
Create an actual map that could be funded by business ads that show good shops along
the routes - Chocolate Sparrow - Eat Cake for Breakfast - Snowy Owl
May be put up a screen with Google Satellite or Google Maps of area and map out good
routes
Explore the electric utility ROW between Chatham and Orlean
