HomeMy Public PortalAbout10/25/1952ADJOURNED MEETING TOWN COMMISSION, TOWN OF GULF STREAM, FLORIDA OCTOBER 25,1952. t� The Town Commission of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, met in an adjourned meeting at 11 o'clock - a.m. October 2$th,1952, with Commissioners Lindy, Iglehart and Bauer present. Commissioner -Town Clerk Bauer explained to the to the lack of a quorum he had met at the Town the various meetings from time to time and had recessed the regular meeting which was to be h of October,1952, to meet in regular adjourned, eleven o'clock a.m. October 25,1952. May or Lindsay suggested that the Commission reaffirm the permanent budget of the Town Uommission and re- assess eight mills as the taxes necessary to be levied against real estate, and improvements, located in the Town in order to meet the budget requirements. Commissioner Bauer moved that the tentative budget set forth in the Town 'ommission's meeting of July $th,1952, which tentative budget is as Follows: Revenne: Real Estate Taxes at $ mills less discounts 11,619.22 Water Sales 7,000.00 Fla Power & Light Co Franchise 762.72 Refund of Road Fr Bridge Districts Taxes by 450.00 Palm Beach County 719.00 Licenses 200.00 Fines 90.00 Permits 250.00 Supplies & Disposal 20,640.94 Expense: Police Department Salaries 32 F,40.00 Auto Maintenance & Repair 1,012.44 Uniforms 50.00 4190 ?44 Streets & Sidewalks Cleaning 450.00 Lighting 400.00 Maintenance & Repair 450.00 �. Co.-;nissioner Iglehart then moved that as soon as the Tax Assessor had extended the millage against the assessment roll, that said roll be turned over to the Tax Collector, and he proceed immediately to send out tax statements and collect the amount of taxes due and shown thereon. Said motion was seconded by Commissioner Bauer and on vote unanimouslt carried. A:- protbst by Mrsr Glenna C; Crafts that she could not have incurred a water charge for the month of May amounting to $8.00 was read. The Commissioners present voted that the Town Clerk write Mrs. Crafts advising her that this bill or charge must be paid or that the Town would be forced to sever her water connection. Mrs. Crafts wax also to be advised that inasmuch as all Water Consumers own their own meter the operation of said meter is entirely their own responsibility. The Commissioners also voted that all Water Bills were to be rendered to the Home Owner and should not be rendered in part to sub tenants.
