AUTHORIZING THE REJECTION OF BIDS AND AUTHORIZING RE-BIDDING
FOR CARTERET WATERFRONT PROMENADE MOORING BOLLARD
M'lD RECREATION PIER PROJECT
'VHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret, (the "Borough") has previously solicited and received
bids for the Carteret \Vaterfront Promenade :Mooring Bollard and Recreation Pier Project (the
"Project") on Angust 24, 20 I 0; and
'VHEREAS, upon a review of said bid submittals for the said Project, the Borough's Consulting
Design Engineer for the Project has detennined that all of the submittals substantially exceed his
estimate for said work; an~
\VHEREAS, the Engineer has recommended a modification to the scope of the originally
proposed contract work for the Project, to include the time allotted for perfonnance of said
construction work, and to re-bid for the Project in order to seek to achieve a reduction in the bid
cost for the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, that all ofthe bid submittals received for the
Carteret \Vaterfront Promenade "Nlooring Bollard and Recreation Pier Project are hereby rejected,
and the return of all of the bidders' bid bonds is hereby directed, along with a notification of the
rejection of all bids.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Borough Engineer and Purchasing Department are
hereby authorized to solicit new bid submittals for the Project in accordance with the Engineer's
modification of the bid specifications for the same.
