HomeMy Public PortalAbout2011-037 Resolution Recognizing & Thanking Chad Adams for His Service as City AdminMember Weir introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2011-37 RECOGNIZING AND THANKING CHAD ADAMS FOR HIS SERVICE AS CITY ADMINISTRATOR FOR THE CITY OF MEDINA WHEREAS, Chad Adams has served as City Administrator for the City of Medina from January of 2003 through May of 2011; and WHEREAS, Adams has, as the first City Administrator of Medina, created a City administration which marks a transition from the informal style of the past to the detail oriented climate of the present; and WHEREAS, Adams has assembled a City staff with the skills and work ethic which will serve the City well going forward; and WHEREAS, during Adams' service as City Administrator significant City projects have been accomplished including: • the development of a City Capital Improvement Plan to deal with road, utility and other needs of the City; • putting in place procedures to enforce existing ordinances and regulations including periodic review of issued conditional use permits and on -site septic systems; • creation of a quarterly newsletter to the citizens of Medina; • obtained grants which were essential in the construction of the Field House in the Hamel Legion Park, the commencement of the lighting of the ball fields in that park, and additions to public safety equipment of the police and fire departments; • overseen substantial economic development in the City including residential and commercial development projects including the Target store complex and the Open Systems International headquarters; and • prepared and managed City budgets and implemented cost savings which result in Medina's city levy rate ranking among the lowest in the western suburbs. Resolution No. 2011-37 May 11, 2011 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Medina recognize and thank Chad Adams for his service as City Administrator in a manner which will leave a lasting positive impact on the City.
