RESOLUTION N0. 231�
, nESOLUTION OBJECTING TO'PROPOSED ASSEM$LY
RE-DISTRICTING, AND SUGGESTING ALTERNATIVE PLAN, %
WHEREAS, the Southeast area has experienced a pheno-
menal growth in the paet ten yeara; and
ti�JHEREAS, it haa become neceasary for tne Legialature
to re-diatrict the area in order that a proper representation of
the people might be accompliehed; and
. WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of City of Lynwood
that the propoaed re-d.istr�icting pro�ecte a��ahoe etring" area
, through the north portiom of L,ynwood croesing a natural and lo�i-
cal boundary line that has been maintained for yeare, i.e.
Alameda Street; and
NIHEREAS, this plan resulte in creating a district that
doee not have conmon problems, in fact causea a eeparation of an
area long unifie@ in interests; and
59HEREAB, it would prove coatly in re-eatabliehing
election precincts;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council .
of the City of Lynwood ob,jecta to the proposed aeaembly re-district-
ing plan ae set forth by the Aaeembly of the State of California
aa it effecta the 52nd, 55th, and 69th Districta, and auggests
that Alameda Street be the westerly boundary of Aeeembly diatricte
tnat effect Lynwood, and that Lynwood remain in the 69th Aseembly .
Diatrict, as set forth in the map attached hereto and made a
part hereof.
