A motion was made by Tim Brady to re-open the abatement application. The motion was seconded and approved unanimously. The Board discussed the timing of Mr. Smith's application to the Land Court to combine 15 Gosnold and 11 Woodsneck. The Board determined that Mr. Smith made the application to the Court in February of 2016 and decided that date was when the family made the formal decision to combine the properties. If the property was one lot for fiscal 2017 (assessment date January ln, 2016)the assessment would have been approximately $500,000 less. The Board decided to prorate the abatement to the application date and abate $400,000. The abatement application was made on 15 Gosnold and the abatement is to be applied to that property only. Unanimous 3-0-0. The Board reviewed and signed the Property Tax Abatement Report for January 2017 with Real Estate Abatements totaling$2,368.99 and CPA surcharges of$71.06.
