,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood,
,, California, as follows:.
WHEREAB, pursuant to an Act o£ the Legislature of the State �
of California, approved Apri1 24-, 1937, and known as the �'Labor Code;�, �
the City Council oi the City of Lynwood is req_u.ired to ascertain the
general prevailing rate of per diem wages and.the general prevailing
rate of per diem wages for legal holldays.and overtime woriz, in this
:. locality, �or each craft or type of laborer, workman or mechanic needed
to execute the proposed contract for the construction of curba, side-
walka.and gutters in Bradfield Avenue and;othen atreeta;-in-accordance •.'
with Plans and Specifications No. 1951-C-1 on zile in the office of
the City Clerk of the said City of Lynwood.
NOW, THEFcEFORE, the City Council of the City of-Lvnwood
•does hereby resolve as•follows:

during.any one calender day, and £or time on Saturdays, Sundaya and
tne aeveral legal holidays,,to-wit: New Yea.r's Day, P�Iemorial Day,
' Fourth of Ju1y, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thankagiving Day and
Christmas.
� Provided that notwith�tanding the generaT proviaion con-
� tained herein, Flagmen, Guards, and Watchmen ehall,be paid one and
one-half timea tne prevailing rate for overtime' (overtime shall be
time,worked in excese of eight hours.per day or forty hours per week),
and the str�ight rate £or time worked on Satu'rday's, Sundays
and Hclidays where auch time does not constitute overtime. �

The foregoing prevailing wage achedule is based upon a
working day of ei�Yit hours, and in the event that laborera, worxmen,
or mechanics are employed less than eight houra per day, tne rate
of per diem wagea ahall be deemed to be that iraction of the fore-
going ratea that the number of houra of employment beare to eight.
The rate of compensation for any claeaification not listed
in the achedule, but v;hich may be required to execute the proposed
work, ah�ll be commensurate•and in accord with the ratea apecified
for similar and comparable classification or for those performing
similar or comparable duties. ' �
