• � BE.IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood,
California, as followa: �
WFiEREA�, purauant to an Act oP the Legislature`of the 8tate
of CaliPornia, approved April 24�, 1937> and known as the °Labor Code��,
• the City Council of the CS:ty of Lynwood is required to ascertain the
° ,general prevailing rate oP per. diem wages and the general prevailing
� rate of per diem wages for legal holidays and overtime work, in this
locality, for each craf.t or type of.laborer;, workman or mechanic needed
to execute�the proposed contract-for the construction of curbs and
gutters in Agnee Avenue and other atreeta, in accordance with P1ans
and SpeciPicatione No 195i-F-1 on Pile in the oPfice oS' the City
Clerk of:the said City oY Lynwood.
�:NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
doea hereby resolve ae_followa: - �
Section 1: The City Council of the City of Lynwood doea
hereby ascentain�and determine that the general prevailing rate of ,
hourly wages, in the locaTity in which said work, ,or improvement, is
to be done, for each araft or type of laborer, workman, or mechanic
needed to execute the contract for Purniehing and del�vering certain
. materials and euppl.ies in connect3on wfth the improvement hereinabove
described and in accordance with Plans and Sgecificationa No.•1951-�'-1

vailing rate ahall be paid for any working time more..than eight hours
during any one calender day, and for time on 8aturdays, 3undaye and "

- Fourth oP July, Labor Day, Armistice,Day,.Thankagiving Day and
� Chriatmas, .
Provided that notwithstanding the general provision con-
tained herein, Flagmen, Guards, and Watchmen shall�be paid one and
one-half times the prevailing rate for overtime (overtime shall be
�time worked in excess of eight houra per day or.forty hoizrs per week),
� and the straight prevailing rate for time worked on Saturdays, Sundays
and Aolidays urhere such time doea not conatitute overtime.

The foregoing prevailing wage achedule ie based upon a
. working day oP eight hours, and in the event that laborers, workmen,
or nechanica are employed leas than elght houra per day, the rate
of per diem wagea ahall be deemed to be that fraction of the fore-
going rates that the number of houra of employment bears to eight.
The rate of compenaation for•any clasaification not liated
in the schedule,, but which may be reauired to execute the propoaed
work,:ehall be commensurate and in accord with the rates epecified
for similar and comparable classification or for those performing
� simllar or comparable duties.
