McCall Golf Advisory Meeting Minutes for May 8, 2019
Attendees: Eric McCormick, Paul Stover, Ken Stearns,Allan Morrison, Kristin Christensen
Ken made a motion to approve the minutes from the April meeting. Kris seconded the motion, and
the April minutes were approved
Eric's Report: All the greens are now uncovered, and we started mowing greens today.Aeration will
start tomorrow.Aspen and Birch will open the Friday before Memorial Day. Cedar opening is still to
be determined. Shop expansion is now complete.Turf Equipment has set up our equipment
maintenance program. Banyan's is waiting for the tent area to dry so that the pavers can be set.A CIP
has been submitted for a future permanent roof structure in this area.We had lots of tree damage
over the winter. We will start the cleanup next week.When it dries enough to get the chipper out on
the cart paths,we will start that process. There is a new cart path material that we will be testing
where the sewer was dug up on Birch.
Allan's Report: Tournaments are filling up fast. There is already a waiting list for several tourneys.
The June 8 Boise Tournament has been cancelled. The Pro-shop staff still has vacancies.The date for
the Hawkins' Tournament has not been finalized. Season passes are on sale. Course rules will be
posted and also appear on the web page.
Monthly Topic: "Marketing". Eric gave a rundown on how marketing was handled for the past year.
Items discussed included: golf shows, ads in various publications, ads in local motels and at City Hall,
Winter Carnival, etc.About$6000 was spent over the course of the year. Eric's marketing wish list
includes an ad at the Boise Airport.
Old Business: Dog poop is still an issue. Eric is continuing to work on getting cameras. Ideally, he
would like cameras on all three#1 tees and the parking lot area. Eric showed the committee the
plans for the new restroom. Everyone was encouraged to stick around for the rules clinic scheduled
for 5:00.
New Business: None
June's topic: "Review Golf Course Rules and Regulations."
The next meeting is June 12, at 4:00 p.m.
