the City Council of the City of Lynti�rood_ is reauired to a.acertain tne
,- genera.l prevailing rate o£ per diem tvages and the general prevailing
rate of per diem wages for legal holidays and overtime work, in thia
locality, for each craft or tyne of laborer, workman or mechanic needed
to execute the proposed contr�ct for the construction of sanitary.

Provid_ed that notwithstanding the genera]_ proviaion con-
tained herein, F.lagmen, Guarda, and ��latchmen shall be p�id one and
one-half t.ime� the t�reyailing rate for'.overtime (oyertime shall be
time worked in•exceas of eight hours per c�ay or forty hours per week),
and the stra.ight prevailing r"ate for time worked�on Saturdays, Sund.ays
and Holidays where auch time does not constitute�overtime.� �
The foregoing prevailing wage achedv.le is based upon a
taorking day of eight hours; and in the event th�.t laborera; workmen,
or mechanics are employed leas•thQn eight hours per day,�the rate

, of per diem wages shall be deemed to be ihat fraction of the fore-
going rates that the•nu.mber of hours of employment�bears to eight.
� The rate of combensation�for any classifica.tion not lic�ted
in the Gchedule, but which rnay be required to execute the propoeed
work, sh�ll be commeneurate and in accord_t�tith the rates specified
for similar and compar�ble classification or for tnoae performing
