SE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City oP Lynwood,

tidfiEREAS, �urauant to an Act oP the LegisZature of the State
of Galifornia, approved April 24 1937 and known as the "Labor Code,"
the City Council of the City oP Lyntivood is required to ascertain the

� general prevailing rate of per diem i�rages and the general prevailing
rate of per diem wages Por legal holidays and overtime work, in this
'" � locality, for each craPt or ty of laborer, workman or mechanie needed
to execute the proposed contract.for the construction of sanitary aewers
and appartenant work in Ban:Luis Avenue,et al, in accordance with Plans
and SpeciPi.cations No. 194g ii-2 on file 3n the ofPice of the Gity Clerk ,
of the said City of Lyntaood. -

Provided that not less than one and one-half times the pre-
vailing rate shall be paid for any working time more than eight houre
during any one calendar da.y, and for time on Saturdays, Sundays, and
the sevel legal holidays, to-wit: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth
of July, Labor Day, Armiatice Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christma.e
Provided that notwithatanding the general provision contained
herein, Flagmen, Guards, and Watchmen shall be paid one and one-half

timea the prevailing rate for overtime �overtime shall be time worked
in excesa of eight houra per day or forty hours per week), and the
straight prevailing,rate for worked on Saturda.ys, Sundaya and
Aolidays �,�here such time does not constitute overtime.
The Foregoing prevailing wage schedule is based upon a
working day of eight hours and in the event that laborera, workmen,
or mechanice are employed less than eight hours per da.y, the rate oP
per diem wages ahall be deemed to be that fraction of the foregoing
rates that the number of houra of employment beare to eight:
The rate of compensation for any clasaification�not listed
in the schedule, but which may be required to execute the proposed
work, shall be commenaurate and in accord with the rates specified
for similar and comparable claesiPication or for thoee perPorming
eimilar or comparable dutiea,
