CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO.2011-65
RECOGNIZING POLICE CHIEF ED BELLAND FOR TWENTY YEARS
OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF MEDINA
WHEREAS, Ed Belland has been a valued full time City of Medina employee in the Police
Department of the City since August 5, 1991; and
WHEREAS, Ed has served as a licensed peace officer at the City of Medina for twenty
years; and
WHEREAS, Ed served six years as a Patrol Officer; and
WHEREAS, Ed has been the Police Chief for the last fourteen years; and
WHEREAS, Ed implemented a 24-hour/7 days a week department; and
WHEREAS, Ed created the Police Sergeant and Police Investigator positions; and
WHEREAS, Ed was involved in establishing the West Metro Drug Task Force; and
WHEREAS, Ed has served as the City of Medina Emergency Manager for the last fourteen
years: and
WHEREAS, Ed was instrumental in the establishment of the Lake Area Emergency
Management Group for the City of Medina; and
WHEREAS, Ed brings great leadership skills, attitude and work ethic to the job daily; and
WHEREAS, the City of Medina expresses sincere gratitude for Ed's dedication and
continued service to the Medina community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Medina
acknowledges and thanks Ed Belland for twenty years of service to the community.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Pederson
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Crosby, Martinson, Pederson, Siitari
And the following voted against same: (Absent: Weir)
None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
