Joint Work Session - Call to Order 6:00 PM
A. Roll Call
Mayor Berner called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. Upon Roll Call the following School Board
Members and City Council were present: Mayor Steve Berner, Al Havens, Eric Schnedler, Skylar
Limkemann left at 6:02 PM, returned at 6:38 PM, Chris Olney, Tim Orris, Kara Prickett, Joe Burns,
Jennifer Mooney, Matt McAreavy, Eileen Schmidt. Shaun Kukuzke arrived at 6:08 PM. Absent: Jennifer
Downes. Others present City Administrator Doug Boldt, Clear Creek Amana Associate Superintendent
Matt Leeman, City Clerk Abigail Hora, Board Secretary Lori Robertson and others.
B. Agenda Additions/Agenda Approval
Motion to approve agenda by McAreavy.
Second by Olney.
All ayes, agenda approved.
C. Welcome and Introductions New Members
D. Discussion and Update on Current School Construction Projects
Discussion: Associate Superintendent Matt Leeman gave construction project update for Clear Creek
Amana Schools which included construction of Oak Hill Elementary, Clear Creek Elementary
Gym/security and ADA upgrades/kitchen remodel, North Bend Elementary main entrance/security,
Amana Elementary main entrance/security/office remodel, Middle School drop off and entry drive, High
School parking lot expansion and classroom addition.
E. Update on Future Facilities Planning
Discussion: Associate Superintendent Matt Leeman gave future facilities planning update which included
the new elementary school in Coralville, playground improvements at elementary buildings, Middle
School roof improvements/expansion of Fine Arts, High School expansion of Fine Arts and new
CTE/vocational space.

Discussion: City Administrator Doug Boldt and Associate Superintendent Matt Leeman discussed the
28E for the shared use of the Districts and City facilities. This agreement has increased from $2000 to
$4000/annually which is in line with the current rate structure.

G. Discussion and Update on City Construction Projects
Discussion: City Administrator Doug Boldt gave City construction project updates which included the
third Water Well which is scheduled to be online this summer, Original Town Phase Two to be completed
this fall, Public Works Building to be completed in December, North Park Road will be 4 lanes with
construction to begin in 2024.
H. Update on Recreation Center/Possible CCA Participation in an Indoor Pool
Discussion: A general discussion on the Recreation Center was had and if there was still interest from the
District in regards to the indoor competition portion of the pool. General interest from the Board was
favorable however a follow up meeting will be scheduled in September to discuss more details.
I. Scheduling of Next Meeting
Next meeting is scheduled for September. Doug Boldt will get with Dr. Corey Seymore for a finalized
date.
