HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-30-2015THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JULY 30, 2015 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, July 30, 2015, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5"' Street, Richmond, Indiana. President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson, Tony Foster and Dick Foore. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Karen Chasteen, City Clerk; Tracy Bosell, Street Department; Police Lt. Donnie Benedict; Fire Chief Jerry Purcell; Greg Steins, City Engineer, Taylor and Stefan Sanders; Terri Turner; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Foore moved to approve the minutes of July 16, 2015 as presented, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Foster moved to approve the July 17, 2015 Claims for Payment in the amount of Two Hundred Thirty Three Thousand Four Hundred Forty Seven Dollars and seventy eight cents ($233,447.78), supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Mr. Foore moved to approve the July 24, 2015 Claims for Payment in the amount of One Hundred Ninety Two Thousand Six Hundred Five Dollars and ninety three cents ($192,605.93), supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REQUESTS • STREET CLOSURE WESTVIEW NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY SW 19TH Street & Western Drive — cul-de -sac August 4, 2015 — 5:30 — 7:30 pm Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • NOISE VARIANCE SPORTSMAN - Outdoor Event July 31 — August 1, 2015 9:00 pm -1:00 am Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • 4 -WAY STOP SIGNS West Main and Salisbury Road The Indiana Department of Transportation will be responsible for 80% of the cost and the City of Richmond will pay 20 %. BID OPENINGS - None BID AWARDS • STREET DEPARTMENT — 2015 INTERNATIONAL 7400 DUMP TRUCK Selking Int. with W.A. Jones Body Not to exceed $135,368.00 Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 90-2015 — HILL ELECTRIC (Fire Department) Wiring of generators and transfer stations for Fire Stations 2, 3, 4 & 5 Not to Exceed $6,899.00 Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS - None ADDENDUMS - None RESOLUTIONS - None PETITIONS • DRIVEWAY AND CURB CUT 2808 Westminster Avenue — Meadow Park Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. MISCELLANEOUS • APPROVAL OF THE HIRING OF PROBATIONARY POLICE OFFICERS Jesse Tyree Chase Patton Tabled by Police Chief Mark Connery. ADJOURNMENT After a motion was duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
