SAID CITY OF LYNCVOOD OId APRIL 13th, 1948. Be it resolved by the City,Council of the City of Lynwood as follovra: WHEREAS, the General bfunicipal Election wae held and con- ducted in the City of Lynwood, 3tate of California, on the 13th day of April, 1948, as required by law, and � T VVHEREAB, it appears tha.t Notice of eaid Eleetion was duly and legally given, that voting precincts were properly eatablished, . that election officers were appointed and election supplies furnished, that sample ba.11ots were ma.iled to all o,ualified�registered voters in " the City of Lynwood, together with a eopy of the proposed ordinance, • �that polling place cards were mailed to all registered voters and that in all respecta said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat received and canvassed_, and the returns thereof made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the General " Lmnrs of the State'of California governing electione in Citiea of the Fifth and Sixth Claes, and in further compliance with the Political Code oY said Btate, and � �. �i'HEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood met at the Council Chamber of the City Hall on Tuesday, the.20th day of April, 1948, to canvase the returna of said election and instalT the newly elected officers, and to canvass the returns of the propositiona sub- mitted to the qualiPied registered electors, as,a result of which the Council fi.nda that the number of votes caet, the names of the persons voted for, the propositions vuted on and other mattera required by law, to be as hereinafter stated. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood, as followa: 0 That said regular municipal election was held and con- duct�ed in the City oP Lynwood, on Tueaday, the 13th day of April, 1948, in time, form, and manner as required by law; That there were nine voting precincts established for the purpose of holding said election, consisting oP a consolidation oP the regular election precincta eata.blished for.holding general Stete and County elections, as follows; ' Consolidated Voting Precinct A, coneisting of Lynvrood City Precinets 3, 4, and 5. � Coneolidated Voting Precinct B, consieting of Lynwood City Precincts 1, 14, and 15. Conaolid.ated Voting Precinct C, coneistin� of Lynwood City Precincts 12, 13, and 21. Consolidated Voting Precinct D, consieting of Lynwood City Precincts 11, 20, and 24. Consolidated Voting Precinct E, consieting of Lynwood City Precincts 10, 1?, and 25. Conaolidated Voting Precinct F, conaisting of Lynwood City Preci.ncta 2, 6, and 7. Consolidated Voting Precinct G, consisting of Lyn�vood City Precincts 9, 19, and 26. Consolidated Voting Precinct H, consiating of Lynwood City Precincts 8, 18, and 22. Conaolidated Voting. Jr, was.elected to the office, of inember oP the City Council of the City of Lynwood for the full term of four years; Also; it is hereby declared that J. Jack Willard was elected to the office of inember of the City -0ouncil of the of . Lynwood for the full term oP four yeara; ' Also, that Herman 0, Stroh was elected to the office of : memb'er of the City Council of the City of Lynwood for the full term � of four years, said three candidates having received the greatest number of votes cast for the offices of inember of the City Council for . said full term of four years. ' And it having been found�and determined that the total '. number of votes cast in said Consolidated;Voting Precineta on the proposition ��Shall the Ordinance entitled �An ordinanoe of the.City of Lynti�ood repealing ordinance No. 319 oP the City oP Lyna+ood,' be adopted and become eYfectide:° was ,'2520_ votea. That there.were _1650 votes cast in favor of�said proposition,.and 870 _ votes cast against eaid propoaition. • THEftEFORE, in accordanee therewith the City Council of the ° City of Lynwood does hereby declare tha.t the total number of votes oa.st Tn favor of said proposition are in exce�s of the number of'. � votes cast against said proposition; therePore, the City Council hereby declares that said Ordinance was adopted. _ And it having been found and de.termined that the tota,l . number of votes cast.in said Consolidated Voting Precinets on the proposition, "Shall the salary of the members of the Oity Council of the City oP Lynwood be reduced from the present �10.00 per month to �OO.�JO per month?" was ��05 votes. That there were _465 votes - cast in favor of said proposition, and _��_ votes cast against : said proposition. ' THEREFORE, in accordance therevrith, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby declare that the total number of votes cast against said proposition are in excess of those cast in favor oP said propoeition;.therefore, said proposition-failed. And it having been found and determined that the total number of votea cast in said Consolidated Voting Precincts on the propoaition, "Shall the salary of the members of the City Council of the Gity of Lynlvood be increased from �10.00 per month to �50.00 per monthY" was 2630 votes. That there were 1141 votes cast in �avor of said propoeition, and 1489 _ votea cast ugainst said proposition. , • TherePore, in aecordance therewith, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby declare that the total number of dotes cast against said propoaition are in excess of those cast in favor . of said proposition; therefore, said proposition Pailed. And.it having been found and determSned that the total number of votes cast in said Conaolida.ted Voting Precincta on the � proposition, "Shall the salary o£ the ?iqayor of the Cit,y of Lynvaood be established at �50.00 per month in addition to his salary•as � Councilman?'� was 2648 votes. That there were 1099 .notes cast in favor of said proposition, and 1549 votes cast against said proposition. � THERLFORE, in accordance therewith, the Gity Council of the City of Lynwood doea hereby declare tYiat the total number of votea cast against said proposition are in excess of thoae cast in favor of aaid proposition; therefore, eaid proposition failed. . The City Clerk shall enter on the records of tne City Coun- , cil a,atatement of the result oY the General Municipal Election showing the whole..number. of votee cast, the names of the persona voted Yor and the number of votea given to each of such persone and_the number of votea cast and against said propoaitions, alI as required The City Clerk ehall also.immediately make and deliver to each of such persons elected a aertificate of election, signed by him and duly Authenticated; he ahall alao impose the cone-titutional oath of office and have same subacribed to,.�hereupon they shall be , inducted into the respective ofPices to which they have been elected.
