Florida, held at the Town Hall on Saturday, February 12,1955 at 10 a.m.

The mingtes of the meeting held on January 8th,1955 were read and
upmn motion, unanimously ratified and approved.
The following bank balances as of January 3191955 were reported:

The Commissioners unanimously approved payments made by General
Account Checks numbered 1807 to 1832 inclusive and Water Department
checks numbered 23 and 24.
Town Clerk Bauer reported check in the amount of $38.00 had been
received from the Murphy Construction Company for the construction
of a precast concrete wall on property owned by Mr. Harold F.Johnson
The Commissioners unanimously approved the purchase of 25 mile per
hour speed limit signs to replace old and rusted signs now in use
and approximately 4 new additional signs for use on AlA.
Mr. Roig submitted drafts of two proposed Acts of the Legislature
of the State of Florida, one validating the tax levies etc of the
Town of Gulf Stream for the taxable years 1953 and 1954 as therein
provided and the other amending the Charter of the Town of Gulf Stream
in the manner therein provided, said amendments being those discussed
and approved at the last meeting of the Town Commission.
On motion duly adopted it was
RESOLVED that the Town Commission of the Town of Gulf Stream,Florida,
hereby approves the two acts above referred to entitled:
rr AN ACT Ratifying,Confirming, Validating and Legalizing, All the
Assessments, Valuations of Properties and Levies of Taxes Made by the
Town of Gulf Stream, A Municipality, in the County of Palm Beach,
and State of Florida, for the Taxable Years 1953 and 1954, and c
Authorizing the Collection of said Taxes in the Manner provided by Law ".
If An act Amending Sections 1 ,2,3,4,5,6,7,$,9,10,11,12,13,14 15 and 16
of Article VIII -- Revenue an d Taxation -- of Chapter 22,301, Laws of
Florida, 1943 Special Acts, the same being the Town Charter Act of the
Town of Gulf Stream in Palm Beach County, Florida: Providing for
changes relating to the time for making returns of property tp
Tax Assessor; Providing for changes relating to the time when the
Tax Assessor shall complete the Town Tax Assessment Roll and File
Same with the Town Commission, sitting as Board of Equalization:
Providing for changes relating to the time the Town Commission
shall meet as the Board of Equalization; Providing for change in
the Annual Tax for General Municipal Purposes from 10 mills to
to 15 mills; and providing for the carrying into effect of the
Mingtes of Meeting of the Town commission-of the Town of Gulf "tream,
Florida held at the Town Hall on Saturday, February 1201955 at 10 a.me

provisions of this act.
RESOLVED FURTHER that Mr. C. Y. Byrd, Counsel for the Town, is
authorized to cause said Acts to be introduced in this next session
of the Legislature of the State of Florida and to do all things
necessary and proper to expedite the passage of said Acts.
A copy of petition and resolution drawn up by Neil E. MacMillan
attorney for Delray Beach, Florida, petitioning the Palm Beach
County Commissioners to-take such action as is necessary to secure
additional public beach, was read, and tabled for action at a later
date.
There being no further business to come before the meeting it was
voted to adjourne
