BE IT RE30LVED by the City Council of the City oP Lyn�rood,
California, as follos�ra: .
L�3EREAS, pursuant to an Act of the Legislature of the State
of CaliPornia, approved April 24 1937 and knoian as the "Labor Code,°
the City Council of the City of Lyriwood ia required to ascertain the
general prevailing rate of hourly.wages and the general prenailing
rate of hourly wages for legal hoZidays and overtime work, in this
locality, for each craft�or type of laborer, k*orkman or mechanic needed
to execute the proposed contract for construction of ornamenta7.. ,
street lighting syatem and appurtenant work in Corniah Avenue, in accor-
dance with Plans and SpeciPications No. T948-G-2 on file.in'the ofiice
. oP the City Clerk of the said City of Lynwood.

hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1: The City Council of the City of Lyn�*ood does here-
'ay ascertain and dete^mine that the general prevailin� rate of hourly
wages, in the locality in which said work, or improvement, is to be done,
for each craft or type oP laborer, �,�orknan or mecnanic needed to execute
the contract for furnishing and delivering certain materials and supplies
in connection with the improvement,hereinabove described and in accor-
dance with Plana and Specifications No. 194�8-G--2 on Pile in the office
of the City Clerk of said City, is as follows, to-wit:

Provided that not leas than one and one-half times the pre-
�ailing rate shall be paid Por any working time more than eight hours
during any one ealendar day, and for time on Saturdays, Sundays, and
tiie seven legal holidays, to-wit: New Yea.r'e Day, Memorial Day, Fourth
of July, Labor Day, Arr�iatice Da.y, Thanksgiving Day and Chriatmas.
Provided that notwithstanding the genersl provieion contained
herein, Flagmen, Guarda and Platchr�en shall be paid one and one-half times
the prevailing rate for overtime �overtime sha11 be time worked in ex-
aeas oP eight houra per day or forty houra per v:eek), a.nd the straight
prevailing rate for time worked on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays where
" such time doea not constitute overtime.

The rate of compensation for any classification not liated
in the schedule, but which may be required to execute the proposed work,
ahall be commensurate and in accord with the rates apecified for aimilar
and comparable classification or for those performing similar or com-
parable duties. �
