A RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING THE ADOPTION OF THE
GRAND COUNTY MULTI -JURISDICTIONAL ALL HAZARD MI L IGATIClN PLAN
WHEREAS, the mission of Grand County and the participating jurisdiction of Moab include the chaaige to protect
the health, safety, and general welfare of the people of the County and City; and

WHEREAS, The Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 (Public La w 06-390) established new requirements for pre-
and post -disaster hazard mitigation programs; and
WHEREAS, Grand County and the City of Moab have participated in and completed a planning process that
engages the public, assesses the risk and vulnerability to the impacts of hazards, develops a mitigation strategy
consistent with a set of unifornn goals, and creates a plan for implementing, evaluating and revising this strategy;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED i that Moab, Utah:
Adopts in its entirety the Grand County Multi -Jurisdictional All Hazard Mini Plan (Plan).
) Will use the adopted and approved portions af the Plan to guide pre- and post -disaster
hazards identified.

Will coordinate the strategic ; idenatif ed in the Plan with other plaansz ng programs sand mechanisms under
its jurisdictional authority.:
4.) Will continue its support of the Hazard Mitigation Planning Team and continue to participate in the
planning partnership as described by the Plan.
5.) Will help to promote and support the mitigation successes
