AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE AND APPROPRIATION OF FUNDING FROM FAMILY SERVICES OF DELAWARE COUNTY, INC.
WHEREAS, Family Services of Delaware County, Inc., an Indiana not-for-profit
corporation, is the recipient of certain Federal grant monies from the Indiana Division of Mental Health; and
WHEREAS, said grant funds are to be used to provide alcohol, tobacco and other drug primary prevention services for youth at “moderate risk” for substance abuse; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation, through its
JUKO (Just Us Kids Outdoors) Program provides such services; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Board has entered into an agreement with Family Services of Delaware County, Inc. whereby the Department of Parks and Recreation will receive a portion
of said grant money to be used for alcohol tobacco and other drug prevention services for youth through the aforementioned JUKO Program; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to appropriate said funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The receipt of funds from Family Services of Delaware County, Inc. to be used in the JUKO Program of the Department of Parks Recreation for alcohol, tobacco and other drug primary
prevention services for youth at “moderate risk” for substance abuse is hereby approved.
2. Said funding shall be appropriated for such activities conducted through the JUKO Program.
Passed and adopted this 19th day of October, 1998, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
