HomeMy Public PortalAbout2011-093 Resolution Supporting Request for Matching Funds from Henn Co HousingMember Siitari introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2011-93 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A REQUEST FOR MATCHING FUNDS FROM THE HENNEPIN COUNTY HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY FOR THE "OPEN TO BUSINESS" INITIATIVE WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (the "HCHRA") is soliciting proposals from suburban Hennepin municipalities for matching funds to support the municipalities in contracting with the Metropolitan Consortium of Community Developers ("MCCD") to offer technical assistance to small businesses and entrepreneurs; and WHEREAS, the City of Medina (the "City") seeks such funds to pay for one-half of the annual cost of the "Open to Business" services offered by MCCD in order to offer the services to residents and businesses in the City; and WHEREAS, if the City Council is granted and accepts funds from the HCHRA, the City commits to contract with MCCD for "Open to Business" services and to fund one-half of the 2012 cost. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Medina supports the submission of a request for matching funds from the Hennepin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority to take part in the "Open to Business" Initiative.
