• RESOLUTION ADOPTING SCALE OF PREVAILING WAGES,
� ETC., IN CONNECTION WITH THE I�PROVIIvIENT OF
LONG BEACH BOULEVARD BY THE INSTALLATION OF A
TRAFFIC SIG�AL SYSTEDH.

WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisiona of Sections 1770 to
I707 incluaive, oP the Labor Code oP the State of California, the
City Council.of the City bf Lynwood is required to ascertain the
general prevailin� rate of per diem wages for legal holidays and
: overtime work in this locality, for each craft or type of laborer,
workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract for the inatal-
lation oF a syatem of traffic signale on Long Beach Boulevard in
the City of Lynwood as shown on PTans and Speclfications No. 46- .

_ NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby reaolve as follows: �
It is hereby ascertained that the general prevailing
, rate of per diem wa�es, and the general prenailing rate for Sat-
urday, �unde.y, legal holidays and overtime work, for each craft or
type of workmen needed to execute the propoaed contract, is as _

rate for the craft involved.
�APPRENTICES, may be employed in conformity with Section

Pronided that not less than one and one-halP timea the
preva111ng rate shall be paid for any working time more than eight
houra during any one calenday day,.and for time on Saturdays,
3undaysa and the Seven legal holidays, to-with
� New Year's Day, �emorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day,
Armiatice Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas.
Provided that notwithatan�ing the general provision
� contained herein, Flagmen, Guards, and Watchmen shall be paid one
and one-halP times the prevailing rate for overtime (overtime shall
be time worked in excess of eight hours per day or forty hours per
week), and the straight prevailing rate Yor time worked on Sa���rdays,
' �9undays and Holidays where such time does not constitute overtime.
The foregoin� prevailing wa�e acheduel is based Upon a
• �orking day of �ight houre and in the event that laborers, workmen,
or mechanics are employed less than eight hours perday, the rate
of per diem wagea shall be deemed to be that fraction of the fore-
going ratea that the number of hours oP employment bears to ei�ht.

listed 3n the schedule, but which may be required to e�ecute the
proposed contract, "ahall be commensurate and in accord with the
rates specified for similar and comparable classificatio� or Por
those performing simllar or comparable dutiea:
