Vi'HEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Sectibns 1770 to
1777 inclusive, of the labor code of the Stat@ of California, the
City Coundl oP the City of Lynwood is required to ascertain the
general ,?revailin� rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing
� � rate of ner diem wages for legal•holidays a.nd overtime work in this
locality, for each craft or type of laborer, workman or mechanic
needed to execute the a�tract for the construction of plant-mixed
surPa.cing on Imperial Highvray as shown on Plans and Specifications
No. 4C13 on file in the�office of the City Engineer of ea.id City,
, NOW THEREFORE, the City Ccuncil of the Cit� of L:Inwood does �
hereby resolve as follo«s:
� It is hereby ascertained. that the general prev4iling rate
" of per diem wa�es, and the general prevailing rate for Saturday; .
� Sunday, legal holidays and overtime wQrk, for each cra.ft or type of
ti=orkmen needed to execute the proposed contract, is as follows, to-

, ` Provided that notwith,standing the general provis3.on
contained herein, Flagmen, Gua.rde, and t�+atchmen shall be paid
one and one-half times the prevailing r�te for overtime (over-
time ahall be time worked in excess of �ight hours.ner day or
� forty hours per week), and the straight prevailin� ra.te for
, time aaorked on Saturdr�ys, 3unda.ys and Holidays where such time
does not constitute overtime.
The foregoing pre*cailing wage schedule is ba,sed upon
a working day�of eight hours and in the event that laborers,
wortiunen, or mechanics are emplo,yed less than ei�ht hours per
day� the rate oP per diem wages shall be deemed to be tha.t
frac.tion of the foregoing rates that the number of hours of
emplo,yment bears to eight.
The r?.te of compensation for any clascifica.tion not
_., listed in the echedule, but which may be rea_uired to exec��te
the propoaed contract, shall Ue commenaura.te and in accord
uaith the rates specified.for similar and comaparable cl�ss>
ificatSon or for those performing similar or c�mparable duties.
