HomeMy Public PortalAbout2012-03 Resolution Accepting Donation from Laverne Theis MemorialMember Weir introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2012-03 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM LAVERNE THEIS MEMORIAL WHEREAS, The Laverne Theis Memorial has generously offered to donate a check in the amount of $1,000 (the "Donation") to the city of Medina (the "City"); and WHEREAS, the Donation will be dedicated to the City's Municipal Park Fund to install a bench in Hamel Legion Park; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to accept the Donation and express its gratitude to the Laverne Theis Memorial for their generosity. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina, Minnesota, that the City accepts the Donation and thanks the Laverne Theis Memorial. Dated: January 17, 2012. T.M. Johnso , City Administrator -Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Martinson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Crosby, Martinson, Pederson, Siitari, Weir And the following voted against same: None Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Resolution No. 2012-03 January 17, 2012 Member Weir introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 2012-04 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM HAMEL VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT RELIEF ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, The Hamel Volunteer Fire Department Relief Association has donated a check in the amount of $25,000 (the "Donation) to the city of Medina (the "City"); and WHEREAS, the Donation will be distributed to the Hamel Volunteer Fire Department for equipment funding; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to accept the Donation and express its gratitude to the Hamel Volunteer Fire Department Relief Association. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina, Minnesota, that the City accepts the Donation and thanks the Hamel Volunteer Fire Department Relief Association.
