Sauer Town Clerk Bauer acting as The minutes•of the meeting held on Ma-r 14th 101,1-, were read and upon motion, unanimously ratified and approved. Town Clerk Bauer reported Bank Balances as of May 31st,1955 as follows: General Account Water Account Depreciation Account $� 6;484:76 3;787044 2,560.05 The Commissioners unanimously approved payment of checks drawn on the General Account numbered 1928 to 1949 inclusive and on the Water Account #36 and on the Reserve for Depreciation Account #1. There was read in full a second time and passed and adopted without amendments tree following ordinance titled: 1955 REVENUE AND TAXATION ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM FLORIDA PROVIDING FOR OBTAINING REVENUE BY TAXATION OF ALL ILEIL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY WITHIN THE TOWN LIMITS OF THE TOWN; AND PROVIDING A COMPLETE AND ORDERLY PROCEDURE FOR ASSESSING LEVYING A COLLECTING ENFORCING COLLECTION OF DELINQUENT 'AXES; ISSUANCEA AND SALE OP TAX SALE CERTIFICATES; THE RATE.OF INTEREST SAID TAX SALE CERTIFICATES SHALL BEAR, THE METHOD OF REDEMPTION OF TAX SALE CERTIFICATES: THE ENFORCEMENT OF TAXES THROUGH THE ISSUANCE OF TAX DEEDS; THE METHOD AND FORM OF ISSUING TAX SALE CERTIFICATES AND TAX DEEDS; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE. Upon motion made by Commissioner S.B.Iglehart seconded by Commissioner L. Seton Lindsay, it was unanimously voted that the above read ordinance be adopted on its second reading. A letter from Arthur H. Carter, Secretary and Treasurer of the Gulf Stream Golf Club dated May 23rd, in reply to a letter written by Mayor L. Seton Lindsay, was read and ordered filed. A discussion was held relative to the adoption of an ordinance prohibiting the dumping of refuse in any waters adjacent to the Town. The matter was temporarily tabled. It was called to the attention of the Town Commission that the next procedure in regards to the 1955 Tax Assessment Roll was the posting of a notice that the Town Commission would sit as a Board of Equal- izers for the purpose of hearing ants and all tax payers complaints and to equalize all valuations shoWn on said roll. The Town Commission then authorized the posting of said notice. Thereupon, on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the Town Clerk was instructed to prepare and post on the Bulletinn Board at the Town Hall a notice directed to all interested parties and tax payers that the Town Commission would sit as a Board of Equalizers be- tween the dates of July 1 and 8th to hear any complaints relative to the 1955 Tax Assessment Roll. A letter of May 31st,1955, received form Mr. Wendell Herbruck was read, in which he approved the engagement of a second policeman. That the Town Commission of the Town of Gulf Stream will meet on July lst,1955 and on each day thereafter until July 8th,1955 (except Sunday) from ten o'clock A.M. to twelve o'clock P.M. as a Board of Equalization for the purpose of hearing complaints and receiving testimony as to the value of any property, real or personal, as fixed by the Town Assessor of Taxes, of perfecting, reviewing and equalizing the assessment.
