February 28, 2011
I. Call to Order — The Veterans Affairs Council Meeting for February 28,
2011 was held informally due to lack of a quorum.
II. Invocation — None
III. Pledge of Allegiance — None
IV. Roll Call — Present Absent
Louis Ford, Board Member Charles Wood, Chairperson
Julio Mendoza, Board Member
V. Agenda Posting — The Agenda was duly posted by the City Clerk for
the February 2011 meeting.
VI. Approval of Minutes — The January 2011 minutes were not approved
due to a lack of a quorum.
VII. Scheduled Matters — Veterans Day Program Planning — Not discussed.
VIII. Public Orals — Pearline Calderon, 4010 Josephine Street announced
that the City of Compton will be having a Mardi Gras Festival at Wilson
Park on March 5, 2011.
IX. Board Member Orals —
• Wood — Absent
• Ford — Stated that he enjoys the Senior Center Casino trips but
hasn't been going lately as the seats sell too fast.
• Mendoza - Absent
X. Adjournment — The Veterans Affairs Council will adjourn until the next
regularly scheduled meeting to be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, March
28, 2011.
